October 21, 2009

Well just got his, and I thought I'd write of my day.

So today, I woke up and saw the weather outside. And I saw just how beautiful the weather was and could tell that it was going to be a good day.  I saw God's beauty out in the Santa Barbara weather. I got ready, went to breakfast, and to class.  Math 34a was no big, I just played bubble breaker on the phone. Then I had my econ 1 quiz, and that sucked.

I got back and did my quiet time.  I read Acts 4 and 5.  It taught me a few things:
  • Nothing done for God is ever wasted.
  • One of our greatest testimonies is the difference in our lives and our attitude.
  • To be BOLD and pray.
  • To be more concerned about serving God than people's reactions.
  • Obey God and TRUST His Word.
  • Share my faith no matter what the cost.
And a couple of the verses stuck out to me today as well:
  • 4:12 - "Salvation is found in NO ONE else, for there is NO other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
  • 4:31 - "And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God BOLDLY."
  • 5:20 - "tell the people the FULL message of this NEW life."
  • 5:29 - "We must obey God rather than man!"
  • 5:32 - the Spirit was GIVEN to us
  • 5:42 - "they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Christ."
It was good to be reminded that I was to keep telling people the Good News, even when I get discouraged.  Sharing no matter what because I need to be persistent in sharing.  I can't worry about what others say or think about me and my faith because it doesn't matter.  It was a good time with God today.

After my quiet time, I hit up DLG with paul and cassandra.  Then I went to the library for 3 hours to write my 5 page animal research paper, and I only wrote 2 pages.  Then i played frisbee with Michelle for a little bit.  Then I had dinner with Seanna, Paul, and some of their boy friends. That was fun. Then it was off to EPIC, my favorite part of the week.

I loved it.  Nina's message was great because it was on Acts 6, right with my devotions.  About sharing God's love, His love letter to us.  Sharing that to others who may not have the opportunity to hear it, so WE are the love letters being sent in to the world.  To go where we are called to go, not necessarily where we want.  And also to listen to what God is trying to teach us. It's all for our growth in Him. And to be GOD's movement.

Afterwards, we hung out and went over to Woodstock's. Delicious is all I have to say. I love hanging out with that family.

Today was also hard because I saw one of my sisters hurting, though.  I could see it in her eyes when I first saw her.  I texted her after I got back to my dorms.  When she texted me back, I cried a little just because I think I could almost feel how sad she was.  But prayer is great in that way, asking God for help in hard times and for those we love and care for.  To be a support and caring for them.  To be a friend and a sister.

One Life. One Love. One Purpose.
